Where does the food come from?
The majority of our frozen items come from Winter Sun Farms, a company in Kingston, NY that purchases produce in season from local and regional farmers and freezes it using IQF technology. This freezing process results in a high-quality finished product which is frozen in individual pieces instead of blocks, making it easier to use and giving it a better texture than home or small-scale frozen items.
Winter Sun Farms sources most of their produce from farms in the Hudson Valley area. We are working with Winter Sun to try to add produce from growers in our region to their line of products. We source most fresh items from closer to Binghamton and try to develop relationships with local farmers that can help to increase their growing capacity from year-to-year and experiment with new varieties specifically for storage, processing, and extended season harvest.
Each month, subscribers will receive a member newsletter with a listing of the farms that each item came from along with information about the farms. Each frozen item also has the farm name and location printed on the label.

Extended Harvest Partner Farms
We source produce from a variety of farms in NY and PA. Most are within 200 miles of Binghamton and many are closer. The list of farms we work with is constantly changing. This list is based on where we have sourced items in the past as well as where we anticipate sourcing them in the future and the specifics are subject to change. We will continue to update this list as more information is available to us. Each month, subscribers receive information on the sources for that month's items.
