Who We Are
Rebecca Heller-Steinberg, Owner & Operations Manager
Rebecca grew up in Chenango County. After living in and traveling to places ranging from Boston to Nepal to Arizona, she missed the Southern Tier and decided to return and make her home here. In addition to running Extended Harvest, she also volunteers with the Binghamton Urban Farm, a project of Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments (VINES).
Featured along with her family as Homesteaders of the Year in the August/September 2012 issue of Mother Earth News, Rebecca is an avid gardener, backyard chicken keeper, and local foods consumer and advocate. She was inspired to start Extended Harvest after having trouble sourcing local fruits and vegetables during the winter. A graduate of BCC’s 60-hour Entrepreneurial Assistance Program, Rebecca also worked for several small businesses before starting Extended Harvest.
